In this step, you define the settings for the external procurement strategies.

The delivery can either be made directly to the production line (ship-to-line) or via a central goods receiving area.

The strategies are set up using the following data:

  • The control type specifies how processing by external procurement is carried out (by standard purchase order, for example).
  • The order type controls, for example, the number assignment of a purchase order and determines which fields must be maintained for the purchase order.
  • The movement type determines which movement type is used to post the automatic goods receipt for materials that are procured externally.
  • The signal locking time defines a locking period in minutes after triggering via the bar code. In this period, retriggering via the bar code does not lead to a status change in the system. This reduces the risk of faulty input particularly via the bar code scanner.

  • The form defines the content and the layout of the kanban card.
