In this step, you define the access sequences for summarized JIT calls. The access sequence is a search strategy used by the SAP system to find valid message records. To define an access sequence, you must make the following entries:

  • Access sequence

Alphanumerical key with up to 4 figures, which uniquely identifies the access sequence.

  • Description

    Text describing the access sequence

  • ABAP module pool

Y or Z to identify the program for accessing message records

  • Detailed data (only the most important detailed data are explained, further information can be obtained via field help):
    • Sequence number
    • Sequence number of access within access sequence
    • Table
    • Condition table containing the key fields of the message records.

Recommendation

  • To create a new access sequence, copy a similar, existing one and make the necessary changes.
  • If you define your own access sequences, the key should begin with the letter Y or Z, since the system is shipped as standard with these namespaces reserved.

Activities

  1. Examine the extent to which you can use, or will have to change, the access sequences contained in the SAP system as standard.
  2. Define and activate your access sequences for summarized JIT calls.
  3. Enter the access sequence in the message type (see message type).
