In this IMG activity you determine the settings for document flow and data transfer in value contracts. To do this, enter the document type, for the documents that are to be copied to the reference documents, and the item categories that may be copied for the value contract. In the detail screen you have to enter certain specifications for each copying transaction, at header and item level. For example, these specifications could be copying requirements, data transfer and value updates in the document flow.
Value contract settings
The same rules must be followed for copy control in value contracts as in other sales documents. However, check the settings in the Cont. item copy mode field at item level, where you need to differentiate between two cases:
Case 1: Source document value contract - Target document contract release A material is needed in the item in value contracts that relate to product proposals or product hierarchies. This is for technical control reasons such as for deriving taxes and updating statistics. You can predefine this material in Customizing for item categories and it will then be proposed when you create a value contract. The material used for control may not be copied for contract releases to a value contract with a product hierarchy or product proposal module. Therefore the material in the value contract item may not be copied (copy mode A). For contract releases to a value contract with material acquisition, only the material from the value contract item may be copied (copy mode B).
Case 2: Source document value contract - target document value contract Only the material from the value contract item may be copied to the subsequent document. Enter "B" here.
Activities
Check the document flow that is defined in the SAP standard system for value contracts.
Decide how much you need to change the settings that were delivered with the SAP standard system, so that the document flow meets your needs.
