Material determination is carried out depending on the sales document. In this step, you can specify for each sales document type whether material determination should be carried out.
To do this, you must specify a material determination procedure for each sales document type.
Example
Material determination can be used, for example, during an advertising campaign, if a product is only to be sold in special packaging. In this case, the system automatically replaces the material in its usual packaging with the material in the appropriate special packaging for a defined period.
Requirements
You must have checked or defined the control elements for material determination (condition table, access sequence, types and procedures).
Standard settings
In the standard SAP R/3 System, the standard order (OR) is activated for material determination.
Activities
Specify a material determination procedure for the sales document types for which you want to carry out material determination.
