Use

You define iPPE relationships in this activity. You use relationships to link objects that you created in the activities Define General iPPE Node Types, Define iPPE Variant Types, and Define iPPE Alternative Types. You link objects to build up the complete structure for Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE).

Requirements

Standard settings

The relationship types provided as standard by SAP enable you to set up all structures in iPPE. You cannot change the attributes of these standard relationship types.

The iPPE relationship types are grouped as follows:

  • S_ACTFLO Line Assignment

Links elements from the factory layout and process structure (not line balance).

  • S_ACTIOC Material Assignment

Links component variants and structure nodes to line activities.

  • S_ACTIPO Routing Hierarchy

Used to set up structures in the process structure for manufacturing using production lines.

  • S_ACTSEQ Activity Sequence

Represents the sequence of activities in a process structure for manufacturing using production lines.

  • S_FLOACT Line Balance Relationship

Links elements from the factory layout and process structure in the line balance.

  • S_FLOIPO Factory Layout Hierarchy Relationship

Used to set up structures in the factory layout.

  • S_FLOPLN Part of Line Network Relationship

Used to set up a part of line network.

  • S_FLOSEQ Factory Layout Sequence Relationship

Represents the sequence of elements on the production line.

  • S_FOCIOC Focus Material Assignment

Links focus variants and focus structure nodes to activities.

  • S_FOCIPO Focus Relationship

Used to set up the product structure in the focus.

  • S_GRL, S_GRL_A, S_GRL_S

Used to set up structures with the generic node.

  • S_PPMIOC Component Assignment

Links component variants and structure nodes to activities from shop-floor-oriented manufacturing.

  • S_PPMIPO Hierarchy Relationship

Used to set up structures in the process structure for shop-floor-oriented manufacturing.

  • S_PPMSEQ Relationship

Represents the sequence of activities in a process structure for shop-floor-oriented manufacturing.

  • S_RESFLO Resource Capacity

Links objects within the line balance.

  • S_SET..., Combination Relationship / Set Relationship

    Used to link set objects.

  • S_SRL Structure Relationship

Used to link objects within the product structure.

  • S_VAS... Variant Assembly Node Relationship / Assembly Relationship

Represents relationships between objects in the assembly.

  • S_VRL Grouping Relationship

Used in conjunction with relationships of type S_SRL to link objects within the product variant structure (PVS).

In the iPPE Workbench, you can use Engineering Change Management when maintaining relationships of type S_VRL, S_SRL, and S_GRL.

Use the standard relationship types.

Activities

You need only create new relationship types if you have defined your own object types in the above-mentioned activities.

To create new relationship types, proceed as follows:

  1. In Customizing for Production, choose Basic Data -> Integrated Product and Process Engineering -> iPPE Object Administration -> Define iPPE Relationship Types -> Define General iPPE Relationship Types.

The screen Change View "iPPE Relationship Tyes": Overview appears.

  2. To create a new relationship type, choose New Entries.

The screen New Entries: Details of Added Entries appears.

  3. Enter the following data:
    1. In the Relatshp Type field, enter a name for the new relationship type.
    2. In the Counter field, enter a number if you wish to create several relationships with the same technical name.
    3. In the iPPE Object Type 1 field, enter the technical name of the object from which the relationship starts.
    4. In the iPPE Object Type 2 field, enter the technical name of the object to which the relationship points.
    5. In the iPPE Object Type 1 field, specify the technical type of the first object (node, variant, alternative).
    6. In the iPPE Object Type 2 field, specify the technical type of the second object.
    7. In the remaining fields, specify how many relationships of this new type are permitted between iPPE object type 1 and 2.
  4. Enter data as required and save your entries.
