In this step you define rounding categories and rounding rules.

First you define the rounding categories. Examples of rounding categories are "T1" or "T001" for rounding to whole minutes or hundreths of a minute.

Afterwards you define the rounding rules. You use the following parameters to define how rounding is to occur in a standard value calculation:

  • when values within these ranges are to be rounded, that is, before or after they have been increased by additional values
  • how they are to be rounded, for example, rounding up, rounding down
  • what rounding increment is to be used

Define the following fields:

  • "Values frm":

Enter the lower limit of the value range for which you want to maintain a rounding rule.

  • "Un"

Enter the unit in which the limit of the value range is specified.

  • "before addition"/"after addition":

Maintain the fields in these two columns depending on whether the values are to be rounded before or after they have been increased by additional values.

    • "Cat":

Enter the rounding type to be used. You have the following options:

    Rounding type Meaning
         + round up
         - round off
         X normal rounding

  • "RndgIncre":

Enter the increment to be used for rounding.

  • "Un":

Enter the unit for the rounding increment.

Note

All units that you specify within a rounding category must have the same dimension, for example, time, length or volume.

  • Rounding category R001:

The values calculated with CAPP are rounded after they have been increased by additional values. They are rounded up to hundredth of a minute.

  • Rounding category R1:

The values calculated wit CAPP are rounded after they have been increased by additional values. They are rounded up to whole minutes.

  • Rounding category R1M:

The values calculated with CAPP are rounded after they have been increased by additional values. They are rounded down to whole minutes.

  • Rounding category R1R:

The values calculated with CAPP are rounded after they have been increased by additional values. They are rounded up or down to whole minutes.

  • Rounding category R10:

The values calculated with CAPP are rounded before they have been increased by additional values. They are rounded up to intervals of 10 minutes.

Rounding category RX:

The values calculated with CAPP are rounded after they have been increased with additional values.

Values < 2 minutes are rounded up to a hundredth of a minute.

Values >= 2 minutes are rounded up to five hundredth of a minute.

Values >= 5 minutes are rounded up to a tenth of a minute.

Values >= 20 minutes are rounded up to five tenth of a minute.

Values >= 1 h are rounded up to entire minutes.
