In this step, you maintain the plant-specific and storage-location-specific parameters for the external service provider (ESP).
- You assign the following movement types for inventory management to the ESP's warehouse:
- Movement type for receipt in the consignment stock unrestricted (501)
- Movement type for issue from the consignment stock unrestricted (502)
- Movement type for receipt in the consignment stock blocked (503)
- Movement type for issue from the consignment stock blocked (504)
- Movement type for receipt in the consignment stock quality (505)
- Movement type for issue from the consignment stock quality (506)
- For the storage location, you can set
- that the consignment stock is excluded from the material requirements planning
- that consignment postings are possible without a consignment info record
- that conventional consignment postings are not possible for the ESP's storage locations.
If you use all movement types in the inventory management for the ESP's warehouse, the system posts without the stock type so that unrestricted use is displayed in the material document display. To post with the stock type, post all stock types with the same movement type (per sign), therefore with the movement types 501 and 502.
Make the following settings if you want to post with the stock type:
Stock type: Unrestricted In Quality Inspection Blocked
Sign: + / - + / - + / -
Movement type: 501/ 502
The fields for the movement types in the unrestricted-use stock are required entry fields. The fields for the movement type in the inspection stock and in the blocked stock can be filled but do not have to be.
If they are not filled, then the system uses corresponding movement types in the unrestricted-use stock according to the sign for the posting and enters the corresponding movement type (X for stock in quality inspection, S for blocked stock). In the case of a receipt posting in the blocked stock, for example, the posting has the movement type 501 and the stock type S.
If the fields are filled, the system uses the movement type that is set but posts without a stock type. In the case of a receipt posting in the blocked stock, for example, the system posts using the movement type 505 but without a stock type.
That means that, without an explicit movement type in table ESPPL, the system posts using the corresponding movement type for stock type = unrestricted with the additional entry for the specific stock type. The decision about the movement type depends on the stock type.
