In step, "Number ranges, Manual processing", you specify the number ranges which are relevant for the manual processing of planned orders and purchase requisitions.

This you can differentiate between the order proposals created manually from the order proposals created automatically using the number.

Default settings

In the SAP R/3 System, the following number ranges are preset:

  • for planned orders
    • internal number range 1 with interval of 1 to 19999999
    • external number range 2 with interval of 20000000 to 29999999
  • for purchase requisitions
    • internal number range 1 with interval of 10000000 to 19999999
    • external number range 2 with interval of 90000000 to 99999999

Recommendation

SAP recommends that you accept the settings defined in the standard system. In this case, no action is required on your part.

Actions

  1. Specify new number range intervals, if necessary.
  2. Assign a number range to every order type and document type.
