Use
In this activity you can carry out various checks on information structures, and the updating and analysis of iinformation structures in LIS.
In general these checks are reciprocal. This means that if for instance an option checks whether an entry in an information structure also exists in the corresponding database table, it also checks that that there arte no entries in the database table that do not exist in the information structure.
These checks are intended primarily for customer-defined information structures. They can lead to incorrect results with SAP information structures.
Note that the results are displayed differently depending on whether you working online or in batch . In the online case a tree appears and you can explode the node that is of interest. Results from batch jobs are often sent directly to a printer, therfore a simple list is used.
Activities
Selection
Enter the selection data in this section.
You can run the checks in any client and for any information structure. If you select an application, only those information structures are checked that are in this application.
LIS Control Tables
In this section you can select general checks
- Control Tables
Checks the assignments and interdependencies of the control tables for the selected information structures
- Field Catalogs
Checks all field catalogs, irrespective of the selected information structure
- Units
This check is also not dependent on a particular information structure. It checks whether the units are consistent. It also checks user-defined units.
Info Structure
In this section you can select checks that relate to information structures themselves.
- Status LIS/Dictionary
Compares the statuses (for example active, saved) in the information structure and the database table
- Fields LIS/Dictionary
Compares fields in the information structure and the database table. The system checks the field type, length, data element, domain and unit of the fields. It also checks that the fields are in the same sequence in both objects.
- Assignments to Info Structures
Checks the assignment to information structures with different types. For example, a type D information structure is assigned to a type standard
(" ") and a type C information structure. - Stock Values
Checks the table entries for stock values
Updating
- Update Program
Provides information about the generated programs. The generated programs and the control tables are compared.
- Update Indicators
Checks that the update indicators(V1, V2, V3) are consistent. See also Activate Update.
- Update Group/Event
Checks the consistency of the table entries
- Characteristics/Key Figures
Checks the table entries for the update programs. Are all characteristics filled with data for all key figures? The system checks for hierarchy errors. For instance in the case of cumulative updating, the key figures can be taken from the item data, and the characteristic data from the header data.
It also produces a warning if customer-defined fields are used. You should then check how these fields are filled.
- Formulas/Requirements
Checks that the formulas or requirements that have been assigned to update rule for an information structure exist and are active.
Standard Analysis
- Existing Standard Analyses
Lists the existing standard analyses for the selection.
- Compare Key Figures IS and STA
Checks that the same key figures exist in the information structure and the standard analyses.
- Checks and displays the default settings for characteristics, key figures and parameters. Note that these settings are user-specific.
Flexible Analysis
- Existing Flexible Analyses
Lists the existing flexible analyses for the selection.
