In this work step, you can allocate value categories to the PM cost key figures predefined by SAP.
A value category generally groups together several cost element accounts.
In the PM key figure system, you can group several value categories under one PM key figure for costs. This allows you to assign one or more value categories to every PM cost key figure.
Which value categories are grouped together under which key figure depends on your chart of accounts.
Note
To ensure the comparability of the key figures for costs between past orders and orders entered in the SAP System, you should use the same value categories for orders entered in the SAP System and for past orders.
Refer to the Implementation Guide on Plant Maintenance for information on how you can Define proposed value categories for past orders.
Recommendation
You should make sure that on starting your production system the correct allocations are made.
Subsequent changes to the allocation influence the update of the key figures and may possibly require a time-consuming new set up of the kez figure system.
