In this step, you define a timespan (start and finish year) for each FM area for which posting data from the feeder systems (Materials Management and Financial Accounting) is updated in Cash Budget Management.
If Cash Budget Management is active, you can only make postings in the feeder systems on dates within this timespan.
In the information system, you can use the actual factor comparison to display cash holdings (start and finish balances) for this timespan.
You can change the timespan at any time to suit your requirements. However, if actual Cash Budget Management data already exists, you should note the following:
- If, for example, the cash holdings for previous fiscal years are no longer displayed in the information system, you must first delete existing actual data in Cash Budget Management. For more information on this, read Delete actual data. When deleting actual data, enter a "to" fiscal year; the system then automatically takes this as the start year for Cash Budget Management.

Cash holdings are updated in Cash Budget Management up to the finish year which you enter. If you are processing a large volume of documents, make sure that the finish year for Cash Budget Management is only one or two years after the current fiscal year. Otherwise, performance may be adversely affected.

Enter the Cash Budget Management start and finish years for each FM area.
