You need only take over cash holdings if you already had Financial Accounting in use before you went productive with Cash Budget Management.

The term "cash holdings" describes the data in the "Bank" and "Cash" accounts. You must take these over for each company code, to which you have assigned an FM area.

The cash holdings taken over are posted to a particular commitment item, which you create first as part of master data maintenance. For more information, see the chapter on integration in the Cash Budget management documentation.

Before you can take over cash holdings, you must:

  1. Define fiscal years for the cash holdings. For details, see Defining fiscal years.
  2. Assign your company codes to an FM area. For details, see Assign company code.
  3. Enter a commitment item with category 1 and transaction 90 in the master records for the balance accounts "Cash" and "Bank".

Activities

  1. Go to master data maintenance in the Cash Budget Management menu and create a commitment item (account assignment item) specifically for the cash holding takeover.
  2. In this step, you define the company code, from which you want to take over cash holdings. Specify the commitment item which you have created specifically for the takeover.
