In this step, you specify planning levels for your subledger accounts and allocate these planning levels to the liquidity forecast by using the corresponding source symbol.
In the standard R/3 System, levels starting with "F" or "B" are reserved for automatically updating FI postings. Separate levels are intended for updating data from Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM). Thus, the liquidity forecast display is easier to analyze.
Recommendation
SAP recommends using the following levels:
- Level F0 for bank accounts
- Level F1 for customers and vendors
- Levels B1 to Bn for bank clearing accounts
- Levels M1 to Mn for updating data from MM
- Levels S1 to Sn for updating data from SD
In the liquidity forecast, you can then see with level F1 that amounts are posted to subledger accounts, while levels starting with "B" show transactions from bank accounts and bank clearing accounts or represent entered payment advice notes, planned items, and so on. Therefore, you can, on the one hand, use the display to compare planned data to actual data, and on the other, you can display the cash position and liquidity forecast together.
Levels beginning with "M" or "S", however, represent payment flows which are long term and more for planning purposes.
Actions
- Create planning levels according to your requirements.
- Allocate a source symbol to each planning level.
- Assign a short and long text per planning level. The system displays these texts in the cash position and liquidity forecast.
