You can use this step to do the following for an FM area:
- Specify Budget update
The setting only takes effect if you execute budget updates within the hierarchy maintenance. - Define the number of hierarchy levels which are displayed when you change the original budget, supplements, returns, or releases for the funds center and commitment item you are working with.
If you choose appended for the entry type when you are entering a budget update, when you enter the update for a particular funds center and commitment item, the amount entered is automatically added to the amount already in the system.
If you have set up a complex funds center and commitment item hierarchy, you must limit the hierarchy levels when budgeting, to ensure better data transparency and system performance. Ensure that the funds center and commitment item specified in the initial screen are regarded as the first level.
If you have defined the budget objects in the budget structure in such a way as to produce a small budget object hierarchy, do not specify the number of hierarchy levels for budget objects.
Standard settings
The appended option is not set. When entering a new budget update for a particular funds center and commitment item, the system overwrites already existing updates by the amount entered.
The hierarchy levels are not restricted.
If you do not restrict the hierarchy levels here, you can specify a funds center and commitment item in the respective application menus, and the number of hierarchy levels.
Activities
Enter the appropriate settings.
Further notes
When entering budget updates in the Funds Management application menu, you have the option of overwriting the settings you entered in the Implementation Guide.
If you make changes in the budget structure, the hierarchy level settings specified in the No. of levels apply.
