In this section you define product types and assign them to a condition group and a product category. All entries you make here apply to all company codes.
By assigning a product type to a product category, you determine the availability of loan functions which are dependent on the product category.
By assigning a product type to a condition group, you determine:
- That only the condition types which belong to this condition group can be assigned to this product type
- Which condition types are proposed when you create a contract
For product category 310 (borrower's note loans), you can activate order management. Purchases and sales can then be mapped by orders in the system. This product type cannot be posted to a customer account. If you want to post a borrower's note loan to a customer account, you have to enter purchases using the disbursement function and sales via the manual debit position function. It may be necessary to create two different product types.
If you set the interest per disbursement indicator (Int.per disb.), you define that interest for the current period is calculated for each partial disbursement for the period from the disbursement to the end of the period, and only for the amount of the partial disbursement. This ensures that interest is calculated correctly, even if several partial disbursements are made within one interest period and the interest flows already exist as debit positions.
You activate the Price gain indicator if price gains and losses are to be calculated for this loan product type (e.g. for borrower's note loans, which were purchased above or below par and which are redeemed at par).
You use the indicators Collateral active, Objects active and User exit active to activate the maintenance functions for objects, collateral and the user exit screen (see enhancement F67A0014) in loans master data.
Prerequisites
You must already have created the condition groups.
