Define the account assignment references you need. The account assignment reference determines the general ledger account (balance sheet account) to which a financial product is to be posted in Financial Accounting.
By assigning loan portfolios to an account assignment reference, you can manage your portfolios separately according to, for example
In loans management, the account assignment references are assigned automatically to the contract (for more information, see the next step, 'Control Automatic Determination of Account Assignment Reference').
You can freely define the short text of the account assignment reference. You assign a G/L account and, where applicable, a cost center, thus creating a link to Financial Accounting and to Controlling.
Activities
Enter the company code for which you want to define account assignment references.
Select New entries. The detail screen appears.
Define the following in the detail screen:
Key for account assignment reference and short text
Cost center for postings relevant to income statement (only relevant for posting category 4).
