Usage

Based on the preceding settings for the ALE distribution unit, you can set up the uniform packaging service (UPS) automatically in applications. In this way the system carries out checks to uncover inconsistencies, and to achieve a faster distribution process.

You can let the system set up the following settings for the ALE distribution unit, and then view the results.

• Generating the object type levels

  To prepare for the serialization of object types, the system checks whether the sequence in which the object types are posted makes sense.

• Generating the event registry

  The system checks whether the event registries were carried out successfully, or whether they were already available.

• Checking the definition for the packet type

  The system checks whether the defined packet type is available in all clients.

• Setting the UPS-IDoc serialization

  The system checks whether:

• The object channel serialization was successfully entered, or if it was already available
• The assignment of the outbound and inbound processing agree with the system role
• Entries in database table TBD55 (OBJ_TYPE = "UPS") and TBD56 (OBJ_TYPE = "UPS") have been made
