Here you can define the BOS types you want to be displayed in the F4 input help when you assign a BOS type to a sales document with BOS.

You use the BOS type to control:

  • whether the system allows you to outline a BOS hierarchically, or whether you create a flat list with service lines.
  • whether you can create service entry sheets with reference to the BOS in the sales document (unit price contract).
  • whether billing is based on the service entry sheets (unit price contract) or whether you can create a billing plan (flat-rate price contract).

You can also determine default values that can be overwritten in operational BOS:

  • Increments the system uses to automatically generate subitem numbers
  • Copy control for the BOS from a sales document to a purchasing document, meaning whether the system copies the main items, the subitems, or both in a service composite
  • Lot sizes for costing in Easy Cost Planning
  • Service entry for subitems for information purposes, meaning whether services in the service entry sheet can be recorded in subitems in the sales order

You have to enable the Subitem function at the client level to make use of the settings Subitem increment, Service Entry Subitem and Subitem Copy Control .
