In this activity, you make the settings to ensure that data, that is posted in the Business Consolidation component of Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM-BCS), is simultaneously available in the Business Information Warehouse (BW).

As a result, the SEM-BCS data is converted into the BW data format used for reporting purposes, and is stored in the BW.

Whenever Customizing changes are made in SEM-BCS, the data stored in the BW is modified automatically. For example, if the consolidation group hierarchy is changed, the transaction data is modified automatically.

Activities

  1. Set up SEM-BCS including its organization hierarchy.
  2. Determine an RFC destination and a target InfoCube.
  3. Define one or more data streams for each combination of RFC destination and target InfoCube. The data stream determines which data is to be sent to this destination.
  4. Activate the data transfer by switching the data streams to active.
  5. Transfer the SEM-BCS master data and the hierarchy to the BW.
  6. Carry out the initial data transfer to the BW:

    Use Transaction SE38 and program FICBIW00 to transfer all the data generated to date in the SEM-BCS component to BW.

  7. Carry out the SEM-BCS functions and use the Business Explorer for reporting purposes.
