In this step, you define the condition tables for message records for inbound deliveries.

In a condition table, you specify the combination of fields for which you wish to create message records.

In this way, for example, you can control the message determination process in dependency on the combination of purchasing organization and vendor number.

SAP recommendation

The condition tables included in the standard SAP System should be retained unchanged. If you wish to make changes, you should create new condition tables. To do this, copy a similar, already-existing condition table and change it to suit your requirements.

Activities

  1. Check to what extent you can use the condition tables for message control provided in the standard SAP System.
  2. To create a new condition table, proceed as follows:

  • Enter the name of the table you wish to create. Note that you can only choose names between 501 and 999.
  • When creating without reference, enter the table type (e.g. pool table) for the condition table.
  • Enter a name (description) for the condition table.
  • Choose the desired fields for the condition table from the list of allowed fields.
  • Generate the new condition table.
  • Define the new condition tables.

  1. Specify the condition tables in the access sequences (see section Access Sequences).

In this way, you create the link between message type, access sequence and message record.
