In this step you define filters for the product structure browser. You can restrict the data to be valuated by using a filter for the explosion of the product structure.

The filter overview contains the following filters:

  • General filters, that you define in this step.

They can be assigned to any user.

  • User related filters, that you define when you run the following function: Display product structure.
These cannot be assigned to another user.

Define a general filter.
When you define a filter, all data of the product structure are copied as default values for the filter. You restrict the filter by deactivating the automatically selected default values.

  1. Create a filter name and a descriptive text.
  2. Select the function Multiple selection.

You come to the screen Define filter: <Filter name>.

    1. Deactivate the objects you do not want to check.
      Example: Material, class
    2. Deactivate the object specific data per destination (for example, local system, ALE destination) that you do not want to check.
Example for material BOMs: use, plant
    3. Select Copy filter.
    4. You return to the filter overview.
  3. Check whether the data for the filter is completely maintained.
    The following data is displayed:
    • Status that informs you of the processing status
    • Green: Filter completely maintained and saved
Yellow: Filter maintained but not saved
Red: Filter name and description maintained, no data selection
    • Filter type (general or user related)
  4. Save the filter. The status turns green.
