This step generally switches the writing of change pointers on or off.
Keep in mind that you can activate the use of the BDCP2 storage in transaction BD60 (Maintain function module for evaluation). This will significantly improve the access speed to ALE change pointers.
Requirements
The number range for change pointers must be defined.
Standard settings
SAP uses "generally switched off" in the standard system.
Activities
- Execute the function.
- Select the box to activate the writing the change pointers.
- Save the settings.
Activate change pointers for POI
You must activate the writing of change pointers for the message types which need them, for example, those which must be sent to the external optimization system and for the ones whose master data objects are supported during the transfer of data changes.
Before you activate the change pointers for a specific message type, read the general information on activating change pointers to find out which message types should be used.
