In this step, you maintain the different authorization profiles which define the authorizations of the individual users.

A profile contains authorization objects with the corresponding authorizations for restricted working areas.

You store the authorization profile for a user in their user master record.

Default settings

The profile M_LIS_ALL (maintenance authorization for all functions in thLogistics Information System, including planning) is preset in the standard R/3 system.

C_SOP_ALL (Maintenance authorization for all SOP functions)

C_SOP_ANZ (Display authorization for all SOP functions)

The standard SAP profiles always authorize all organizational units.

Actions

  1. Check the default profiles.
  2. If the default profiles are not sufficient, create new profiles as follows:
    1. Choose "Create work area".
    2. The profile list is displayed.
    3. Choose Profile -> Create.
    4. Enter the new profile as well as a short text. If you only want to allocate authorizations to the new profile, you choose "Single profiles". If you also want to allocate single profiles to the new profile, you choose "Composite profiles".
    5. Enter the new profile as well as a short text. If you only want to allocate authorizations to the new profile, you choose "Single profiles". If you also want to allocate single profiles to the new profile, you choose "Composite profiles".
    6. Save the new profile.
    7. Activate the new profile.

Note for transport

To transfer profiles, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the function Profile -> Transfer in the profile list. The list of transferable profiles is shown.
  2. Select the profiles that you want to transfer into the productive system.
  3. Confirm your entry with ENTER and specify a correction number.
