In several European countries (and some States in the USA), the non-exempt amount is found by using the basis amount (which is an employee's income). This basis is then compared against legal percentages to determine in income range. The System uses the ranges and the legal percentage to determine the non-exempt amount.

Example

An employee's basis (income) is $4800. The courts have issued the following income chart with a progressive non-exempt percentage amount:

0 - $1200 = All exempt

$1200 - $2400 = 30% non-exempt

$2400 - $3600 = 40% non-exempt

$3600 - $4800 = 60% non-exempt

Based on the above specifications, the employee's non-exempt amount is $1560, which is broken down as follows:

0 - $1200 = 0

$1200 - $2400 = $360

$2400 - $3600 = $480

$3600 - $4800 = $720

Activities

Execute the activity.

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. In the Lv. System field, enter the code name for the levy system model.
  3. In the Level rule field, enter the corresponding long text for the level system model code.
  4. Select the level model and then choose Characteristics of the Level systems (from the Dialog Structure section).

The Characteristics of the Model for the Level Systems section appears.

  1. In the Seq. number field, enter the appropriate country grouping.
  2. Save your entry.
