In this step, you set up parameters for rounding models for the System to be able to round numbers up or down depending on the number range assigned to a rounding model.

Example

You could set up the following models in the system:

  • If the basis amount is a value between DM 100 and DM 999, the number is not rounded.
  • If the basis amount is a value between DM 1000 and DM 2000 (for example DM 1234), the system will round down to the nearest 50 (in this case DM 1200).
  • If the basis amount is a value between DM 2001 and DM 9999 (for example DM 8734), the system will round up to the nearest 200 (in this case DM 8800).

Activities

  1. Execute the activity.
  2. Select a model entry and choose Copy.
  3. In the Rnd model field, enter the code name for the rounding model.
  4. In the Descrip. field, enter the corresponding long text for the rounding model code.
  5. Select the Rnd model and then choose Characteristics rounding model (from the Dialog Structure section).

The Characteristics rounding model section appears.

  1. In this section, enter the following information:
    • Lower and upper limit of the number range for the rounding model
    • Set the indicator as to whether the number should be rounded up or down
    • Enter the rounding amount
  2. Save your entries.
