Use
In this IMG activity, you check material master records to see if they contain:
- Any tax categories originally available in the IMG activity Define Tax Determination Rules but since deleted (see example below)
- Any tax classifications originally available in the IMG activity Define Tax Relevancy of Master Records but since deleted
This can cause problems when you download material master data from SAP R/3 to product master data in SAP CRM.

Activities
Run the report for the country and the materials that you want. The report displays any materials with obsolete tax categories or tax classifications.
Then change the tax categories and classifications in the material master records.
Example
In the IMG activity Define Tax Determination Rules, you assign the tax category TXCA to the United States. You then enter this tax category in several material master records.
Later you decide that you no longer need to use tax category TXCA and you delete the entry from the IMG activity, but you forget to delete it from the material masters.
You run the report to find out which material masters are affected, and change the material tax classifications accordingly.
