Use
In this IMG activity, you define the trial types for Trial Management.
Requirements
You have defined the trial monitor task groups.
You have defined trial views.
Standard settings
SAP provides the following trial types with the associated view groups and trial monitor task groups. The trial types provided have standard settings.
HR01 Trial Collection
GR01 Bench Scale Trial Group
GR02 Pilot Plant Trial Group
GR03 Factory Trial Group
TR01 Bench Scale Trial
TR02 Pilot Plant Trial
TR03 Factory Trial
SAP provides the API ABAP class CL_RMXT_API_TRIAL.
Activities
- For the new trial type, use a suitable ID in the customer namespace (Y* or Z*).
Note that customer data that is not in the customer namespace can be overwritten in the event of a release upgrade.
- Assign an API ABAP class.
- Assign a trial monitor task group.
- Assign a view group.
- Specify a trial type description and a trial icon for the workbench.
- Enter the number of days for which you want to store the messages in the application log.
- Assign a transformation group.
- Define the class assignment.
- Assign lower-level trial types.
- Assign technical object relationships (such as DOCU - Documents).
- Assign number ranges.
Note: Number ranges are dependent on the plant.
- Assign text types in order to divide long texts into categories.
Class Assignment
In Class Assignment, you enter Classification classes.
When you call up the Class Assignment trial view, the system enters these classes as default values for trials to which no classes are assigned.
You can also link each class to a trial monitor task. When you execute the assigned task in the trial monitor, the system checks whether the associated class is assigned to the trial and whether values are assigned to the class characteristics indicated as Entry Required. You cannot execute the trial monitor task unless these requirements are met.
Requirements
You have defined Classification classes.
Lower-Level Trial Types
Here, you define which other trial types are allowed to be subordinate to a trial type. This enables you to create a clear trial hierarchy.
Standard settings
The trial types provided have standard settings.
Example
Standard trial types TR01, TR02, and TR03 do not contain any entries, since other trials are not allowed to be subordinate to trials of this type.
Standard trial type GR01 contains the entry TR01. This means that a trial of type GR01 can be assigned other trials of type TR01.
Technical Object Relationships
Here, you define which objects from the trial environment are allowed to be assigned to a trial type.
Standard settings
The trial types provided have standard settings.
SAP provides the following object types for assignment to a trial:
BB Independent Stability Study Template
DEPBB Dependent Stability Study Template
DOCU Documents
EPLOS External Inspection Lot
EPO External Process Order
PL Planned Order
PO Process Order
RCPDEST Target Recipe
Example
For standard trial type TR01, the following objects are permitted:
BB Independent Stability Study Template
DEPBB Dependent Stability Study Template
DOCU Documents
RCPDEST Target Recipe
For standard trial type TR02, the same objects are permitted as for trial type TR01. The following objects are also permitted for setting up the connection to the Production Planning for Process Industries (PP-PI) component:
PL Planned Order
PO Process Order
Number Ranges
Assign an internal and an external number range to each trial type. Number ranges are assigned on a plant-specific basis.
When a trial is created, the system either takes a new number from the internal number range (if you do not specify the trial name) or it checks the trial name you have entered against the external number range.
Requirements
You have defined number ranges for Trial Management.
Text Types
You can assign any long text type to each trial type.
In the Long Texts trial view, you can then assign one long text of each text type to the trial in the workbench.
Note: You can create and edit the text types in the TRIAL object by choosing Text Objects and IDs, Change.
Standard settings
SAP provides the following texts types for trial management:
0001 Planning
0002 Trial Log
0003 Report
