Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the process parameter types that you want to use in Recipe Management and Trial Management. For each process parameter type you specify a class from Classification.
You create process parameters in Recipe Management and in Trial Management. When you do this, you must assign each process parameter a process parameter type. This assignment ensures that the characteristics from the class that you assigned to the process parameter type are available in the process parameter as fields for data entry.
Requirements
In Classification, you have created the classes and characteristics that you require for process parameters. Note the following here:
- Classes for process parameters in Recipe Management must belong to the class type 102. Characteristics for process parameters in Recipe Management must be assigned to classes of this class type.
- Classes for process parameters in Trial Management must belong to the class type 101. Characteristics for process parameters in Trial Management must be assigned to classes of this class type.
- When you create a process parameter for an object (recipe, process, trial, and so on), the system checks whether the class and the characteristics of the corresponding process parameter type are valid from the valid-from date for the object. You should therefore create classes and characteristics for process parameters with a start of validity that lies far enough back in the past.
Example
You want to use the process parameters Oven Temperature and Boiler Temperature in Recipe Management. You set these up as follows:
- In Classification, you create the class Temperature with the following characteristics:
- Target Value
- Minimum and Maximum Quantity
- Unit of Measure
- In this IMG activity, you create the process parameter type Temperature. You assign the Temperature class to this process parameter type.
- Under Set Up Columns and Fields for Process Parameter Data, you create columns for the following values and assign the columns the corresponding characteristics in the Temperature class:
- Target value
- Minimum and maximum quantity
- Unit of measure
- In Recipe Management, you create the process parameters Oven Temperature and Boiler Temperature and assign the process parameter type Temperature to both.
You can then select these created process parameters in the recipe and enter values in them in the fields of the columns Target Value and Minimum and Maximum Quantity. For data entry in the fields, the conditions apply that you defined for the characteristics in characteristic management, for example, the format you set there.
