Use
Recipe Management uses the structures of Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE).
Note:
The standard system contains all the required settings. Changes are not usually necessary.
In the SAP system, recipes are managed as iPPE objects of the application object type Recipe. Each recipe comprises:
- An iPPE node with time-independent recipe data (such as the recipe name)
- An iPPE variant that contains the different change statuses and their data
- iPPE relationships that, depending on the recipe type, represent hierarchical links to other, higher- or lower-level recipes
- An iPPE relationship that represents the process links of the stages, operations, actions, and equipment requirements used in the recipe
- An iPPE relationship that, for the appropriate recipe type, represents the structural links to the formula used in the recipe
Links between different object types (recipe types, formulas, process elements, and equipment requirements) are distinguished by different relationship types.
This IMG activity describes which iPPE settings are used to set up your system for the application object type Recipe.
Standard settings
The standard system contains the following recipe types along with the required iPPE settings:
Recommendation
We recommend that you no longer use the Master recipe recipe type in Recipe Management. The system provides you with a transformation function which you can use to create the necessary master recipes in the SAP Production Planning for Process Industries (PP-PI) component directly from the recipes in Recipe Management.
Activities
Under Logical Systems, define the logical systems you require and assign them to your clients.
You can find Customizing for iPPE under Production -> Basic Data -> Product and Process Engineering. Do not make any changes to the settings for the objects in Recipe Management.
