Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the environment parameters that control processes and functions in Quality Management. These are the following parameters:
- Central plant for QM inspection plans
To call up the master inspection characteristics, the system needs a plant, as well as other information. In this environment parameter, you set the plant so that you do not need to enter it again for the QM inspection. The specified plant is also used as the plant for the inspection methods.
Notes:
- If you do not specify a value, the system automatically chooses the plant 0001.
- We recommend that you specify the value once for the central plant and do not then change it again.
- You cannot enter provisional sample details
When you set this optional parameter by entering a character of your choice, you deactivate a subfunction. As a result, you cannot enter any samples in the Details screen area of the QM view and you can only use the master data of the type sampling procedure.
Note: Provisional sample details cannot be transferred to the master recipe.
- Sets and locks the Template (inspection characteristic) indicator
If you set this parameter by entering a character of your choice, the system partly removes the link to the master inspection characteristics. You can then only choose characteristics that are not of the type reference characteristic. You can then change some of the settings of the master inspection characteristics for the checks, such as target value, tolerance limits, and characteristic category.

You use this parameter to control in which plants and in which sequence within these plants the system searches for the individual inspection characteristics in the MRTRS_START transaction.
The environment parameter can have the following values:
- <No value>: First searches the system in which the master recipes are located after the transformation (target system) and then the central plant. This is the default setting.
- G: Only search central plant
- L: Only search target system
- <Any character>: First searches the central plant and then the target system
Therefore, the system checks whether the inspection characteristics exist in the recipe. It uses the name and version from the general or site recipe and the plant that you specify using the parameter value.

You have created the plant in Customizing for the Plant Master.
