Use
In this IMG activity you specify which messages the system writes to the application log and which message type it assigns to a message. You can thereby influence the output of the following messages:
- Messages that the system displays during the checks it runs during a recipe status switch
Your settings here have the following effects:
- If you have not made an entry for a message to be displayed, the message is suppressed.
- If you have made an entry without a message type for a message to be displayed, the message is displayed as a status message.
- If you have made an entry with a message type for a message to be displayed, the message is displayed with the message type you entered.
- Messages that the system writes to the application log for the formula
Your settings here have the following effects:
- If you have not made an entry for a message to be displayed, the message is displayed with the message type that is defined in the program.
- If you have made an entry without a message type for a message to be displayed, the message is suppressed.
- If you have made an entry with a message type for a message to be displayed, the message is displayed with the message type you entered.
Caution:
You can suppress any message at the specified points and reduce the severity of the message type, for example, from Error to Warning. You should only do this, however, if subsequent processes such as the consistency check are not adversely affected by this, that is, you should not suppress or downgrade messages if they are important for subsequent processes.
Example
The total solids of input substances are not relevant in your business processes. You do not, therefore, enter total solids. If you choose the Input and Output tab page in formula editing, the warning message FRMLMSC 217 is displayed in the application log, informing you that the total solids for input substances does not exist. To suppress this message, you create a new entry in this IMG activity with the following values:
Message class FRMLMSC
No. 217
Message type <blank>
