Use

In this IMG activity, you specify the following functions that are available in formula editing:

  • You specify functions to generate data for a different formula view or more data for this view from the data of this view.
  • You specify functions to generate a BOM from the Input and Output formula view or generate the data for the Input and Output view from a BOM.

If you want to replace the generation functions supplied with the standard system with your own functions or simply add functions, for example, to generate data for your own views, you define the function modules required in this activity. You then assign every generation function to the formula view whose data is to be used to generate the data for your own view. Depending on the formula view, note the following:

  • There are up to 20 pushbuttons available in the formula views to which you can assign different functions.

You can also show individual pushbuttons in display mode as executable. To do this you have to set the ActivDispl indicator in Customizing for Formulas under Set Up Functions for Formula Views.

  • You can use the first pushbutton to assign one function to the BOM pseudo view. This function is then provided with BOM data when it is called. You start the function in the initial screen of formula editing via the Environment menu.
  • To call generation functions from your own views, you must implement the pushbuttons and function call in the function group of the formula view.

Standard settings

Default settings are supplied with the system.

Activities

  1. Define the function modules for your own generation functions (see Define Generation Function).
  2. Set up your own formula view for generation. In the function group for formula views for customers, implement the pushbuttons and function call for the generation functions (see Set Up Formula View for Generation).
  3. Set up the generation of formula views and BOMs as follows:
    1. Check and, if required, change the settings for the standard functions.
    2. Assign your own generation functions to the pushbuttons of the formula view whose data is used to generate the data for the new view.
    3. Make any other necessary settings for your own generation functions.
