In this IMG activity, you define:

  • Which units of measure may be used in formula maintenance in the following formula views or their subviews:
    • The standard views Header, I/O materials, I/O substances, and Composition
    • Customer-defined views in which you enter quantities
  • Which of the allowed units of measure is used as the default unit of measure in these subviews. In the standard views, this default is valid for:
    • The base quantity in the recipe header
    • The total of the material or substance quantities of a subview

Exception:
The output materials of the Composition view are taken over from the I/O substances view without further checks. This means that on this subview the system only takes the settings for the default unit of measure into account.

Example

Requirements

The units of measure have been created in the general Customizing settings (see Check Units of Measure).

Standard settings

Recommendation

Activities

  1. Check which of the units of measure used in your enterprise make sense in the different views and subviews.
  2. Assign these units of measure to the corresponding views or subviews.
  3. Determine for each view or subview which of the valid units of measure is to be used as the default unit of measure.

Further notes

In customer-defined views, these settings are only taken into account if you have implemented the check on the screen of the relevant function group (see Define Function Group for Formula Views).
