Use

In this IMG activity, you define which object types you want to use in the process route for case (see PSRM Terminology) and the process route for incoming post items. You also assign an activity type to the object types. The activity type determines how an activity is executed for an object type. You assign activities to the activity types in the IMG activity Define Activities and Activity Functions for Process Route.

The following activity types are available:

  • Dialog
You assign an activity type Dialog to an object type if a processor of this type (or co-signature) should carry out the activity in dialog. The processor then receives a work item with the appropriate activity in their worklist.
You should assign the following object types to the activity type:
    • Organizational unit
    • Position
    • User
  • Background
You assign the activity type background to an object type if the system should execute the activity (for example: print) in the background.
  • External Step
You use this activity type to control and log an external step during case processing.
You can find an example of how you can map the external step according to the activity types and activities in the process route of the case in the standard system under Example.

Requirements

Standard settings

The assignments of object types to activity types that you can use are defined in the standard system.

Activities

  1. Check that the assignments defined in the standard system meet your requirements
  2. Create additional assignments if required
You have to enter the activity area SCMG to create new assignments for the process route of case.
Enter the activity area RMPSPE to create new assignments for the process route for incoming post items.

Example

Settings Delivered for Mapping External Steps

  • In this IMG activity, the object type external employee is assigned to the activity type external step.
  • In the IMG activity "Define Activities and Activity Functions for Process Route",the activities which should be executed externally - For Attention and In Process (external) -are assigned to the activity type external step
  • In the IMG activity "Define Activities and Activity Functions for Process Route", two activities with activity type Dialog are defined for controlling the external step. One activity is carried out by the user which triggers the external step Prepare External Step, in the other activity carried out by the user, the external step is completed Take Over External Step.

Definition of Process Route

To control and log the external step for a case, you have to create the process route in the case as follows:

  • In the first process route item, you enter the user who should trigger the external step and enter Prepare External Step as the activity.
  • In the second process route item, you enter the external employee who should process the case externally and enter For Attention as the activity.
  • In the third step, you enter the user who should take over the external step in the system and enter Take Over External Step.

Flow

  1. The user of the first process route position receives a work item in their worklist and confirms that the case has been sent to an external employee by post ,for example.
  2. The system executes the second process route item in the background using the employee ID.
  3. The user of the third process route item receives a work item in their worklist.
In the same way as the case was processed by the external employee, the user of the third process route item confirms the processing in the context menu of the second process route item under Maintain External Step -> For Attention. The processor enters the result of the processing in the system and confirms this using the pushbutton Take Over External Step.

The individual steps are logged in the process route overview in the column Output.
