Use

In this IMG activity you define the disposal events that are required for the definition of disposal schedules. The disposal event defines the start date of a disposal period.

You can define internal or external disposal events. Internal events always refer to an attribute that contains a date that is set system-wide, for example, a date field or a time stamp. You define the date manually for external disposal events.

SAP delivers a series of disposal events.

Activities

You create additional disposal events as follows:

  1. Define a five-digit code and a description.
  2. Set the indicator Part if the event should only refer to parts. For example, if you want to define the disposal event Creation Date of a Part.
  3. External Disposal Event:
    1. Set the indicator External.
    2. Define the start date for the external event in the Effective Date field. If the start date is not yet known, leave the field empty and complete at a later date.
  4. Internal Disposal Event:
    1. The indicator External is not set.
    2. Enter in the Attribute field the key of the attribute that contains the applicable date field. For example, enter the key PS_ACTIVE_TSTART for the folder attribute Start of Runtime/> for the disposal event Creation Date of a Folder.
