Ranking

If this indicator is set, the column for displaying the match is made visible in the result list - if at least one search attribute was selected for the search. This last condition does not apply for the candidate scenarios that are based on Web Dynpro technology.

Note

The following also applies for candidate scenarios that are based on BSP technology:

Depending on whether or not the ranking is activated, the system behaves differently with regard to the links between the search attributes within a search application.

The indicator is set (ranking is switched on).

  • An OR relationship exists between the different selected values of a search template element.
  • An OR relationship exists between the search template elements independent of whether they belong to one search template or to different search templates of the search application.
  • The free text search is linked to the search using attributes by an OR relationship.

The indicator is not set (ranking is switched off).

  • An OR relationship exists between the different selected values of a search template element.
  • An AND relationship exists between the search template elements independent of whether they belong to one search template or to different search templates of the search application.
  • The free text search is linked to the search using attributes by an AND relationship.

In both cases, the following applies:

The selected search method of the full text search is based on the free text search only.
