Use

In this IMG activity, you maintain quality scales, which should appear as predefined scales on the user interface. The user can assign the predefined scales to a question in a questionnaire.

Activities

  1. Enter a key and a name for each new scale you create. Note: Do not use the key value "0". This can lead to problems with the flexibilization of the fields on the user interface.
  2. Enter the specifications for the new scales.

Recommendation

Note the following when you create scales:

  • We recommend you not to define more than 20 specifications for each scale because the more specifications you define, the less meaningful they become.
  • You must create at least one specification for each scale.
  • To avoid data inconsistency, do not change scales that are already used. If necessary, create a new scale.

Note

You have already created scales and Set Up Categories accordingly. Now you want to add additional scales. To do so, you must use the IMG activity Update Categories to make the newly added scales available on the user interface.

Example

A question in a questionnaire should have the possible responses Yes and No. You can represent this very simply with the specifications:

0 - No

1 - Yes
