Use

By setting up staff assignment rules, you can ensure that when a position is staffed by a person, particular consistencies are fulfilled. SAP provides a general framework for this that can be adjusted to user requirements. The framework compares the contents of fields of particular infotypes of positions and persons and displays the results.

The framework comprises a number of Business Add-Ins (BAdIs):

  • BAdI: Check of Staff Assignment Rules (BAdI Definition HRFPM_OCC_RULES_CHK): Contains the method for carrying out the checks on the staff assignment rules. You can find more information on this in the similar IMG activity Check of Financing Rules.
  • BAdI: Add Own Infotypes (BAdI-Definition HRFPM_OCC_PROVIDE_IT): Contains methods for reading additional user-defined infotypes.
  • BAdI: Enhancement of Interface for Checking Staff Assignment Rules (BAdI Definition HRFPM_OCC_FILL_CHKIF ): Contains methods for filling the interface structure of the BAdI check method HRFPM_OCC_RULES_CHK. The BAdI is delivered active with a standard implementation and should only be used if user-defined infotypes should be used for the check.
  • BAdI: Post Processing of Check Results (BAdI-Defintion HRFPM_OCC_CHK_POST): Contains methods post-processing check messages and for categorizing errors issued for further evaluation. This BAdI is delivered active with a standard implementation.

The checks results are evaluated in the reports Check Staff Rules and Enhanced Checks for Public Services. In addition, different views of the function Change Organization and Staff Assignments of the component Organizational Management also evaluate the check results.

Requirements

The check of the staff assignment rules is only carried out if the indicator active is set for the filter value in the IMG activity Activate Additional Checks.
