In this step, you use the Parameterization of a mail (PM008) characteristic to define

  • the text, which is made of a standard text and the mail addressee
  • the sender attributes of the mail
  • which processing is possible from the mail.

The characteristic can be used for the Overall budget carryforward and the Worklist

For detailed information regarding the characteristic see the characteristic documentation.

Example

If errors occurred during the budget structure carryforward, these will be outputted in an error log. You can use the mail connection to inform the person responsible for the budget directly from the error log.

The following is controlled via the Parameterization of a mail (PM008) characteristic:

  • the standard text to be used
  • the sender mail folder
  • how the mail is sent
  • an additional distribution list of mail recipients
  • an individula person who should also be informed.

Requirements

Standard texts must be maintained in the Maintain standard text for mail connection step.

Activities

To adapt the PM008 characteristic to your needs, proceed as follows:

  1. Call up the PM008 characteristic.

    You access the decision tree for the PM008 characteristic.

  2. Change the decision tree according to your needs.

    In doing so, please note the characteristic documentation (Goto -> Documentation).

  3. To have the system check the PM008 characteristic, choose Check.
  4. To have the system generate the PM008 characteristic, choose Generate.
  5. To save the PM008 characteristic, choose Save.
