Use

In this activity you group employees who should be handled in the same way during the refinement of absences. In the feature COVER (Determine rule group for the refinement of absences) you determine how these rule groups should be structured using the organizational assignments or absence types.

Example:

  • You want salaried employees, hourly workers, and temporary workers to be handled differently
  • Absences of employees with high absence quotas should be less well remunerated

Requirements

Consider the employee groups for which you want to define different rule packages. Check whether the structure of the COVER feature is sufficient for your needs.

Find out if the country-specific function module HR_COV_GET_PACKAGE_ID_xx, where the rule groups are already refined, exists for your country or not.

Consider whether you need to make a customer-specific enhancement for determining the rule groups. The function exit EXIT_SAPLHRTIM00COV_HIST_001 Change rule group for absence refinement is available for this.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Select the action Create rule group.
  2. Create the rule groups and give them an appropriate name. The field Rule group for refining absences has 10 characters and is alphanumeric.
  3. Select the action Maintain feature COVER.
  4. Determine the criteria to be used to structure the rule groups.
  5. If necessary, maintain the SAP enhancement HRPTIMAB, if the criteria supplied by the COVER feature are not sufficient.
