Use
This section describes how to set up the notification procedure for the data exchange for compensation benefits (Entgeltersatzleistungen (EEL)).
Effective January 1, 2011, the data exchange for compensation benefits is also compulsory for the employer (see article 21 paragraph 11 in conjunction with article 1 number 13 letter b double letter aa of the Law for Changing the Fourth Book of the Social Security Code (SGB) and other Laws of December 19, 2007 [BGBl I. No. 67 S. 3024]).
Due to necessary changes and to ensure a successful start for this new procedure, the health insurance funds will also continue to accept the previous remuneration statements on paper as well as the existing electronic notifications of the data records until June 30, 2011.
For the reports for creating the notifications and notification file, see the SAP Easy Access menu and choose Human Resources -> Payroll -> Europe -> Germany -> Subsequent Activities -> Period-independent -> Payroll-Related Area -> Notification Procedure for Compensation Benefits (EEL).
In the EEL notification procedure, there are the following notification types:
- Outbound notifications to the health insurance funds
- Request for notifications of preexisting condition
- Remuneration statements (for example, HI for sick pay, PI for transitional pay benefits for participation in working life, AI for injury benefit)
- Amount of income liable for contributions
- Inbound notifications for the employers:
- Periods of preexisting condition HI (response to the notification for request for notifications of preexisting condition)
- Amount of compensation benefit (response to the remuneration statements)

Set up the B2A Manager for the data exchange for compensation benefits in Customizing by choosing Payroll: Germany -> Communication with Authorities (B2A) -> Data Exchange with Social Insurance Agencies -> Settings for the Applications -> Settings for Notification Procedure for Compensation Benefits (EEL) (Settings for Notification Procedure EEL - Overview - and following).
