Use

In this IMG activity, you define all of the business objects that can be used in the activity clipboard. For each business object, you define the associated text, how it is displayed if opened, whether it is linked to the interaction record, and which context it is used in.

Requirements

If you are customizing objects that need new mapper classes, you have a basic understanding of ABAP.

Standard settings

Standard settings are available for:

  • Activity clipboard entries

There are entries for all business objects that can be used in the activity clipboard.

  • Activity clipboard profile

Activities

  1. Define entries.

Maintain only if you do not want to use the standard settings.

The activity clipboard entries, each representing a separate business object, are independent of the activity clipboard profiles. You assign entries to profiles later in Define Profiles. Each entry can be reused and assigned to more than one profile.

Several standard Business Object Layer (BOL) objects are defined in the DEFAULT profile. It is possible to add Business Object Repository (BOR) objects, as long as they are wrapped in the ICBORWrapper object that is included in the DEFAULT profile.

You define the following for each entry:

    • Identification
    • You determine the specifics of the business object.
    • Column texts
    • Although the three columns and column titles in the activity clipboard user interface are fixed, you can define the associated business object text for each column.
    • Navigation
    • You determine what navigation should be triggered when the business object is selected in the activity clipboard. You can only select one navigation type. After you choose a navigation type, enter the details underneath.
If you do not want agents to navigate to the business object, then skip this section. As a result, the business object in the activity clipboard will not have a hyperlink.
    • Object Linking
    • Defines linking entries for the business objects between the interaction record and the activity clipboard content. The activity clipboard technically only stores BOL objects. When agents select End, the system looks at all objects in the activity clipboard and checks if entries have linking data defined here. If there is linking data, the system converts BOL to BOR and links them to the interaction record, so that the next time this interaction record is displayed, all objects (BOL and BOR) are available.
  2. Define Profiles.
  3. Assign Entries to Profiles.

You determine which entries, defined in Step 1, can be added to the activity clipboard by assigning each entry to the profile. You can assign the standard delivered activity clipboard entries to your own profile.

  4. Assign Filters to Entries.

You determine whether the entries can be included in the activity clipboard, case management, or both.

  5. Save.
  6. Assign the activity clipboard profile to the IC WebClient profile.
