Use
You can display the external person ID in the infotype header or evaluate it in SAP Queries. The person ID is also available as a selection screen for reports of the logical database for Concurrent Employment (PNPCE). Note: the terms external person ID and person ID have the same meaning.
Creating an External ID for New Employees
When a new employee is hired, the system automatically creates the person ID and stores it in the Person ID (0709) infotype. If another personnel assignment is created, the person ID is transferred by the copy mechanism for infotypes.
Using the CCURE PIDGN switch, you determine the generation rule whereby the person ID is created.
The following generation rules are possible:
- PIDGN = 1
The person ID contains the number of the central person (object CP).
- PIDGN = 2
The number of the first personnel assignment (Pernr) is stored in the person ID for all personnel assignments of an employee.
- PIDGN = 3
The value of the personal identification number from the Personal Data (P0002-PERID) infotype is stored in the person ID for all personnel assignments.
The personal identification number is used differently in different countries, for example as social security number or as tax number. If an employee has personnel assignments in several countries and his or her personal identification number therefore has different values, only one personal identification number can be used as the person ID for this employee.
- PIDGN = 4
You can define how the person ID is created using the HR_CE_PERSONID_EXT BAdI.
Creating the External Person ID in the Productive System
When you activate the person ID in your system the first time, generate the Person ID infotype (0709) for all your employees using the HR_CE_GENERATE_PERSONID_EXT report.
Using the External Person ID on the Maintain HR Master Data Initial Screen
You can also use the person ID as the initial screen for the maintenance of employee data. You select the current personnel assignment that you want to edit using the list box for the personnel assignments.
To do so, set the value of the CCURE PIDSL switch to X.
Each user can deactivate the person ID in the initial screen for employee data by setting the HR_CCURE_PIDSL parameter in his or her user profile to '-' (minus).
In the screen header for employees, either the personnel number or the person ID should be displayed alternatively to the initial screen for HR Master Data. To ensure that the system can exchange both fields dynamically, choose the following system settings when you are creating the screen header:
Infotype Field Name Field Type
0709 PERIDENT DTX
0709 PERNR_PERID DAT
