At a given workplace, the user works with specific business objects, for which authorizations have to exist. This grouping of authorizations according to the requirements of a given workplace is defined by SAP as an authorization profile

Requirements

You must have already maintained the authorizations according to your organizational requirements.

Standard settings

SAP delivers the following standard profile for capital investment programs:

  • master data maintenance, budgeting and planning
  • budgeting and planning
  • all authorizations
  • system administration

Activities

  1. Change the standard profile according to your requirements.
  2. If the profiles delivered by SAP are not sufficient, you have to define additional profiles according to your needs:
    1. Create a new profile.
    2. Assign the corresponding authorizations to the profile.
    3. Activate the profile.

Further notes (Transport)

You transport profiles as follows:

  1. Display the profiles list.
  2. Choose "Profile - Transport".
  3. Select the profiles you wish to transport.
  4. Confirm your selections and enter the correction number.
