In this step, you make specifications on the use of the budget category. You specify whether it is a budget category

  • for costs that can be capitalized
  • for costs that cannot be capitalized or
  • for expense that cannot be classified.

In this way, the system can assign the actual values of the investment measure in reporting to the individual budget categories:

  • Actual values, that are settled to assets, belong to budget categories for costs eligible for capitalization.
  • Actual values, that are settled to CO receivers, belong to budget categories for costs not eligible for capitalization.

Requirements

You must have carried out the step Define budget categories.

Standard settings

SAP provides the budget categories "capital" and "expense".

Activities

Assign an appropriate settlement indicator to your budget categories. When you make an entry in the table, therefore, make sure that the program type and budget category are consistent.

Note

You can make additional assignments using an enhancement project.
