In order to carry out the euro changeover, the fiscal year before the euro changeover year has to be closed. In this step, you close the fiscal year for Asset Accounting.
Activities
- Before you close the previous fiscal year, check the reconciliation of the balances between the FI-AA subsidiary ledger and the FI General Ledger (at fiscal year start/end). To do so, start the appropriate lists of balances in Asset Accounting and for the General Ledger.
- Close the last fiscal year before the euro changeover year. You can then no longer post in the closed fiscal year. Normally you carry out this activity in the first few months of the new fiscal year.
Caution: Remember that the year-end closing data of the previous year is in the system only in euros after the conversion takes place. Therefore, you should document your year-end closing in the old currency by printing out or storing the appropriate lists (such as, the asset history sheet).
