In this step, you can make a field selection for the screens of the project definition and the WBS elements.

For each screen group, so-called "modifiable" and "influencing" fields can be defined:

  • For the modifiable fields, you use indicators to determine how individual fields are displayed on the screen:
    • Field is ready for input (default setting)
    • Field requires an entry (required entry)
    • Field is only displayed
    • Field is hidden
    • Field is highlighted

For example, if you specify that the work center field requires an entry for lists and detail screens in network confirmation, then you must enter a work center every time you make a confirmation.

  • For the influencing fields, you use a value to specify how the modifiable field is displayed on the screen. For example, you can specify that the work center is a required entry for a particular order type.

Notes

The settings of the field selection can be transported and are retained during the release upgrades.

If, due to a change of an influencing field, a modified field becomes mandatory, that is, it becomes a required entry, the system does not check whether this field is filled in all existing objects.

Required-entry fields which are predefined by the application cannot be modified.

If you copy a standard network to a network, the field selection of the standard network is ignored.

Standard settings

No predefined settings are available for field selection.

Further notes

The modifiable and influencing fields are predefined for each screen group and cannot be extended.

Via Edit -> Other view, you can display the technical names of the fields.
