The following describes ways to transfer data into the R/3 system:
- CPIC
After beginning a data collection program, the data records of the sender structure are placed into the DOUT file and are from there automatically transferred into the R/3 system.
To find out about the status of the data transfer, use transactions TMQD and TMQM.
The DC system CICS supports the automatic data transfer. This will trigger all of the necessary activities on the R/2 side.
But under an IMS system, the data must be "retrieved" from R/3 out of a DOUT file. To do this, use report RKCIMSST.
- FTP
In a file transfer, the data is not transferred into the DOUT file, but rather into a sequential file which you yourself must define. This file is placed via FTP, RFC or PC download into a UNIX file in R/3 and can be "retrieved" from there by using the read program RKCFILE0.
Activities
Execute the program for communication, according to your requirements, by using the IMS systems (RMCIMSST) or the read program for file transfer (RKCFILE0).
