The data source for collecting R/2 data in Inventory Controlling is the accounting document.
Currently, the following reports can be used for collecting data in Inventory Controlling from the R/2 system:
Report Transfer path Sender structure
RMCBR2R3 CPIC MCBCO
RMCBBCOS CPIC MCBCO
RMCBINIT CPIC MCBCO
RMCBFILE FTP MCBCO
RMCBFIBL FTP MCBCO
RMCBFIBS FTP MCBCO
RMCBARCH FTP MCBCO
The report RMCBR2R3 is a main program which calls up the data collection report RMCBBCOS for every document type. On the selection screen of the main program, you must specify the company code. The main program selects all of statistically-relevant document types, then determines the last transferred document for every document type and then starts the program RMCBBCOS.
The report RMCBBCOS reads the material document data, interprets it for LIS and transfers it by using a sender structure into R/3. This will also transfer the stock quantities and stock values that belong to a document.
The report RMCBINIT determines the material stocks from the material master records based on the plant and storage location levels and transfers them into R/3. This report is for materials, for which there are stocks, but no material documents.
The report RMCBFILE corresponds to report RMCBR2R3. In contrast to report RMCBR2R3, data transfer is done by using the program RMCBFILE per FTP.
The report RMCBFIBL corresponds to report RMCBBCOS.
The report RMCBFIBS corresponds to report RMCBINIT.
Archived material documents are transferred into R/3 by using report RMCBARCH.
Note
The data transfer cannot be executed as a background job via CPIC.
For that reason, you should start the corresponding reports to collect R/2 data online.
Activities
- In the field Sender program, specify the name of the respective data collection reports.
- In the field Transfer path, specify either CPIC or FILE depending upon the data collection report.
- Check the field R/2 - R/3 Communication, to activate the connection between the R/2 and R/3 systems.
- In the field Variant sender program, specify a selection variant for the respective data collection report.
This entry is only necessary if a data collection program is done as a background job.
- If you scheduled a data collection program in the background, you must set the indicator in the field Batch start.
- Execute the start program for the data collection report.
