In this step, you can perform the statistical setup of information structures, which contain retail-specific key figures.
The setup of statistical data in the Retail Information System (RIS) consists of three components:
- Setup of data from Inventory Controlling (material documents)
- Setup of data from Purchasing (purchasing documents)
- Setup of data from Sales and Distribution (billing documents)
Different programs for setting up statistical data are available for the individual document types:
- RMCBNEUB Statistical setup of info structure from stocks
- RMCBNEUA Statistical setup of info structure from material movements
- RMCBNERP Statistical setup of info structure from purchasing revaluation documents
- RMCWNEUU Statistical setup of info structure from revaluation documents
- RMCENEUA Statistical setup of info structure from purchasing documents
- RMCVNEUA Statistical setup of info structure from orders
- RMCVNEUL Statistical setup of info structure from deliveries
- RMCVNEUF Statistical setup of info structure from billing documents
Caution
In order to avoid any subsequent inconsistencies in the data, do not create, change, delete, or archive any documents during statistical data setup.
Where possible, you should avoid redetermination of update groups during the setup of statistical data (for example, for billing documents). Switch off redetermination for billing documents created by the POS interface, since no preceding documents exist.
During construction of the initial stocks, do not execute any transactions, which make changes to stocks, otherwise the stocks in the stock tables and the info structures are not consistent.
The material movements for closed posting periods can be successfully statistically updated later on, parallel to the current period, since you can separate them from movements that are still open by the posting date.
During the statistical update of documents from open posting periods, do not execute any transactions, which create or change material documents, as this may lead to inconsistent statistical information.
Delete any unnecessary versions before the statistical setup using Copy Management.
Restrict the RIS enhancement as far as possible. You can, for example, enhance material group categories later on using Copy Management.)
Note that during the statistical setup, the MCL parameter is not set in the user defaults, since logging can cause performance problems.
Logging is not advisable during the setup of statistical data, since the log is overwritten every time a record is set up.
For testing purposes, always set up the statistical data in a version '000' first. There is no statistical data setup for inventory data or for info structures with update group 800.
Recommendation
In order to obtain consistent key figure information for the Retail Information System, you should perform a statistical setup for all partially set up components, at least during the first statistical setup.
As far as subsequent statistical setups are concerned, this is no longer necessary, nor is it recommended, because a complete statistical setup of the information structures in the Retail Information System is extremely time-consuming.
Further notes
You can find detailed information about the individual statistical setups that are used in the Retail Information System in the respective descriptions of the setup of statistical data for Inventory Controlling, Purchasing and Sales and Distribution.
